Scott Yackey is a an associate in the Intellectual Property Group of Dykema Cox Smith. Mr. Yackey's practice focuses on intellectual property litigation involving patent and trademark infringement. Additionally, Mr. Yackey has experience preparing and prosecuting patent and trademark applications. Mr. Yackey's practice also involves counseling clients on patentability and freedom to operate matters.

Immediately prior to joining Dykema, Mr. Yackey was an associate with an Am Law 100 firm in St. Louis, Missouri. During law school, Mr. Yackey served as President of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association at St. Louis University from 2010 to 2012 where he coordinated monthly speakers who presented on a variety of intellectual property subjects. Additionally, Mr. Yackey was the Footnotes Editor for Volume 5 of the Saint Louis University Journal of Health Law and Policy.

Prior to attending law school, Mr. Yackey was a practicing engineer, developing exhaust systems, with a focus on acoustic tuning and engine performance, for automotive and heavy industry applications at Tenneco, Inc. Mr. Yackey holds a Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
