Caleb J. Halberg is a commercial litigator in Dykema's Chicago office. Mr. Halberg has a principal focus on financial services litigation, including bankruptcy and consumer finance litigation matters.
Experience
Mr. Halberg has successfully represented clients in many areas, including the following:
- Consumer finance litigation, including suits arising under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Real Estate Settlement Proceudure Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Illinois Consumer Fraud Act (ICFA), as well as other related consumer finance claims.
- Real estate matters, including loan workouts, contested judicial foreclosures, mechanics liens, title/lien priority disputes, alleged housing code violations, as well as other lending disputes.
- Consumer bankruptcy litigation, including violations of the discharge injunction, motions for relief from stay, objections to confirmation, objections to proofs of claim, and related disputes in Chapter 13, Chapter 7, and Chapter 11 bankruptcy disputes.
