Jeffrey A. Caviston is a government policy associate in Dykema’s Lansing office. His practice focuses on political compliance, nonprofit organizations, and highly regulated industries.

Mr. Caviston graduated magna cum laude from the Michigan State University College of Law. While in law school, Mr. Caviston served as an intern at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit with Judge David W. McKeague and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development. He was a conservation law fellow with The Nature Conservancy. Mr. Caviston also served on the editorial board for the Michigan State International Law Review and completed a comparative EU-US law program in Białystok, Poland. He received jurisprudence achievement awards for the highest class grade in Comparative Free Expression and International Dispute Resolution.

Before law school, Mr. Caviston worked as a legislative director in the Michigan Senate. During his tenure, he specialized in economic development issues, advising the Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee. Mr. Caviston also worked in the Michigan House of Representatives and for several successful legislative campaigns.
