Jesse advises financial institutions and other clients on a wide variety of legal and regulatory compliance issues. He has experience with a variety of federal and state laws and regulations, such as TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, FCRA, FCBA, ECOA, GLBA, BSA, TCPA, the Bankruptcy Code, the Moss-Magnuson Act, etc. He also has experience in transactions such as mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity financing.

Jesse benefits from a diverse background that includes litigation, transactional, and regulatory work. He has experience in consumer, commercial, and bankruptcy litigation. His courtroom experience helps him advise clients on how to minimize legal risk from the outset. Jesse also has the experience of serving as Law Clerk for Chief Judge Barbara J. Houser, U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas from 2006 to 2007.

Jesse, a native Austinite, is also passionate about human and animal rights and assists various groups in pro bono legal matters. He graduated from the Science Academy at Lyndon B. Johnson H.S. and studied in the Plan II Honors Program in college.


  • Advising financial institutions and vendors on regulatory and compliance law and transactional matters
  • Serving as acting General Counsel for former major mortgage lender
  • Defending financial institutions in class actions, government investigations, and enforcement actions
  • Defending financial institutions and consumer lenders in consumer litigation cases
  • Advising clients in acquisitions, sales, and other transactions involving a wide variety of assets, including manufacturing plants, financial institutions, grocery store chains, restaurant chains, real estate, mortgage loans, oil and gas interests, and sports teams
  • Representing borrowers, lenders, and other parties in various commercial lending matters, including bankruptcy cases
