Jesse advises financial institutions and other clients on a wide variety of legal and regulatory issues. He has experience with federal and state laws and regulations relating to commercial and consumer finance, such as:

Jesse often advises retailers and merchants along with financial institutions on legal issues relating to financial products such as loans, leases, and installment sales. He also helps vendors to regulated financial institutions design their products and services to meet the needs of their customers. In addition, he has experience in transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, and debt and equity financing.

Jesse benefits from a diverse background that includes experience in consumer, commercial, and bankruptcy litigation. His courtroom experience helps him both advise clients on how to minimize legal risk from the outset and provide clients with effective legal representation when adversarial situations do arise. 

He represents and advises clients on state and federal financial regulatory enforcement matters involving federal regulators such as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the Federal Reserve, the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), and the Bureau of Consumer Finance Protection (BCFP/CFPB) and state regulators such as the Texas Office of Consumer Credit Commissioner (Texas OCCC), Texas Department of Banking (TBD), and the Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) and their counterparts in other states.

Jesse also routinely advises and represents clients on bankruptcy and debtor/creditor matters and is active in the bankruptcy legal community. He began his career serving as law clerk for the Hon. Barbara J. Houser, Chief Judge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, from 2006 to 2007. In law school he clerked at various governmental organizations such as the federal Securities and Exchange Commission, the Travis County District Attorney’s White Collar Crime Division, and the Third Court of Appeals of Texas.  

Jesse, a native Austinite, is also passionate about human and animal rights and assists various groups in pro bono legal matters. He graduated from the Science Academy at Lyndon B. Johnson H.S. and studied in the Plan II Honors Program in college.
