Jonathan E. Aberman is a member of the firm's Bankruptcy, Insolvency & Creditors' Rights Group in the Chicago office.

Mr. Aberman's national practice is committed to helping clients find valuable and cost-effective solutions to complex bankruptcy and insolvency-related problems, both in and out of court. He has helped businesses, banks, finance companies and other secured and unsecured creditors protect their assets and interests in bankruptcy cases, foreclosures, receiverships, assignments for the benefit of creditors, workouts and restructurings. In addition, he regularly structures business deals and financial transactions with these situations in mind. He has also represented buyers and sellers of assets in the distressed marketplace, including sales under Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code.

With over fifteen years of experience in Bankruptcy Courts across the country, Mr. Aberman has handled debtor-in-possession financing and cash collateral disputes, auctions and asset sales, plan formation and confirmation, claims and objections, preference actions and fraudulent transfer suits.

Mr. Aberman also has experience negotiating and structuring the bankruptcy-related aspects of commercial finance transactions and asset sales, including intercreditor and subordination agreements and other “Agreements Among Lenders.”
