Kelly Houk is a senior attorney in the litigation group in Dykema’s Bloomfield Hills office. She specializes in personal injury and contract matters. Her clients manufacture pharmaceuticals, medical devices, automobiles, elevators, escalators, furnaces, and firearms. It is her privilege to defend surgery centers and doctors in medical malpractice actions. She is adept at defending a variety of products and premises in asbestos litigation as well as companies and employee-drivers in auto-negligence cases.

Kelly also has experience with insurance and commercial matters, including matters involving significant amounts of secured debt. She has tried bankruptcy, breach of contract, and trade secret misappropriation matters. In 2014, she was part of a trial team that obtained a successful jury verdict in a trade secret misappropriation case pending in the Eastern District of Michigan.

Kelly graduated from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law (UDM), where she achieved recognition in legal writing, administrative law, and franchising law. She was a Title Editor on UDM's Law Review and was inducted into the Frank Murphy Honor Society for graduating in the top 10% of her class. In 2019, Kelly was the recipient of UDM’s Rising Star Award. Kelly serves on the Board of Directors of both the Detroit Mercy Law and Albion College Alumni Associations.

As the daughter of a veteran, Kelly was proud to enroll in the Veterans Law Clinic while at UDM. Through her affiliation with that clinic, she was able to help military veterans with their disability claims. She also traveled with Project SALUTE to New Orleans, Louisiana to reach out to veterans at a local VFW hall. She continues to support this important work by UDM.
