Larissa Fields primarily represents insurance companies in coverage disputes and high-exposure bad faith cases arising from catastrophic weather events. Ms. Fields shares in the management of a broad docket of hurricane, hail, and windstorm litigation. Ms. Fields also has extensive experience representing clients in the financial services, real estate, and insurance industries.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Fields served as a Judicial Extern to The Honorable G. Thomas Porteous, United States District Judge and as a Judicial Intern to The Honorable Orlando L. Garcia, United States District Judge. Ms. Fields earned a B.B.A. from The University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from Tulane Law School, where she was Managing Editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal and received several accolades for her contributions.


Insurance Litigation

  • Trial counsel for residential property insurance carrier sued in Hidalgo County, Texas after March and April 2012 storms.
  • Successfully represented residential property insurance carrier in post-trial proceedings in Hidalgo County, Texas. Court granted Defendant’s Motion for JNOV overturning the jury’s verdict of attorneys’ fees and disallowing any interest penalties.
  • Represented property insurance carrier in coverage disputes and obtained favorable settlements at numerous mediations.
  • Leads preparation of numerous corporate representatives, fact witnesses, and expert witnesses for depositions and trials.

Financial Services Litigation

  • Obtained summary judgment in Bexar County, Texas, on behalf of defendant bank, against plaintiff’s claims for breach of fiduciary duty, violation of good faith and fair dealing, disgorgement of fees and unjust enrichment and constructive trust.
  • Obtained take nothing judgment after bench trial in Jefferson County, Texas on behalf of defendant bank, on plaintiff’s claims of breach of contract, conversion, gross negligence, misrepresentation and fraud.
  • Obtained summary judgment in favor of bank as creditor in probate proceeding, additionally obtained order of judicial foreclosure allowing bank to proceed with foreclosure sale of property.
  • Regularly advises financial institution clients regarding subpoenas, garnishments and levies.
