Reagan’s practice focuses on complex oil, gas and renewable energy litigation. He represents oil and gas operators, mineral and royalty buyers, high net worth family trusts and partnerships, and renewable energy developers in litigation throughout South and West Texas. His experience is extensive and ranges from successfully litigating multi-million dollar  title disputes in the Permian Basin to achieving summary dismissal of drainage claims in the Eagle Ford Shale to favorably resolving renewable energy disputes along the Gulf Coast.

In addition to his complex oil and gas litigation practice, Reagan also represents landowners in condemnation proceedings and easement negotiations against Texas utilities with eminent domain authority.

Reagan—a national award winning advocate—prides himself on professional, efficient and successful advocacy in the courtroom.

Title Litigation. Reagan successfully obtained summary dismissal of an operator’s adverse title claims against an Oklahoma based exploration and production company and was awarded a take-nothing judgment in a case in which the plaintiff claimed over 100 million dollars in damage.

Drainage Litigation. Reagan defended a Houston based exploration and production company and obtained summary dismissal of a landowner’s claim that the operator failed to protect the leasehold from drainage by a nearby well.

Contract Litigation. Reagan favorably resolved claims against a gulf-coast based operator that it breached a joint operating agreement by failing to propose a well to its non-operating partner.

Drilling Litigation. Reagan won summary judgment against an operator on behalf of a drilling company based on contractual indemnity eliminating claims that the drilling company caused damage to an East Texas reservoir.

Royalty Disputes. Reagan successfully defended claims against an operator that it had improperly deducted costs from a landowner’s royalty.

Pipeline Disputes. Reagan obtained favorable settlement against a pipeline company for breach of an easement agreement.

Renewable Energy Litigation. Reagan successfully resolved a dispute  for a confidential amount of money on behalf of a renewable energy developer in which a prospective partner circumvented the developer and cut it out of the deal the developer created.

Condemnation. Reagan has repeatedly taken entities with condemnation authority to special commissioners’ proceedings forcing utilities to pay up to ten times more than their initial offer.
