Rick Daniel is an attorney in Dykema's Dallas office who focuses his practice on commercial real estate finance transactions, commercial real estate, and other commercial lending transactions. Rick is known for creatively and collaboratively finding practical solutions to get complex transactions closed. He works closely with his clients to find out what is important to them in each individual transaction and then advises clients on how to manage their risks in achieving their goals.

His extensive experience includes representing clients in connection with the following:

  • Represented a lender in negotiating and documenting first lien loans and second lien loans to a land banking borrower group for land banking transactions in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, and Utah.
  • Represented a lender in negotiating and documenting a loan for a multi-family development project in Tennessee.
  • Represented a lender in negotiating and documenting a loan for a multi-family development project in Texas.
  • Represented a lender in negotiating and documenting a loan for the development and construction of a hotel in Arizona.
  • Represented a lender in negotiating and documenting a loan for the development and construction of a hotel in North Carolina.

  • Represented an administrative agent in negotiating and documenting a syndicated loan transaction guaranteed by more than 75 subsidiaries of the borrower located in multiple states for collateral perfection purposes.
  • Represented a lender in negotiating and documenting an asset-based loan to an oilfield services company.
  • Represented a lender in negotiating and documenting an asset-based loan to a manufacturer of metal products with inventory located with third-party processors and advised lender with respect to bill and hold accounts.
  • Represented a lender in negotiating and documenting an asset-based loan involving an intercreditor agreement with a mezzanine lender.
  • Represented a foreign lender in negotiating and documenting a loan to finance the acquisition of broadcast television assets.
