Soujoud C. Hamade is an associate in Dykema's Lansing office and a member of the Government Policy Group with a focus on regulatory and legislative matters. Her representative areas of practice include election, campaign finance, and lobby law; cannabis licensing; immigration law; energy law; and laws affecting nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations. 

Ms. Hamade has been heavily involved in politics and government work before becoming an attorney. Prior to graduating cum laude from Michigan State University College of Law (MSU Law), Ms. Hamade served as a policy fellow for the Gretchen Whitmer Gubernatorial Campaign, a legislative assistant for former State Senator David Knezek, and a congressional intern for Congresswomen Debbie Dingell. As a policy fellow, Ms. Hamade helped develop Governor Gretchen Whitmer's policy platforms during her campaign and addressed policy concerns from Michigan residents on the campaign’s behalf. 

Ms. Hamade represented Ingham County in numerous guardianship-ward cases as an extern with the Ingham County Probate Court. She investigated over thirty active guardian and ward relationships and made recommendations on the record. She also interned for the Honorable Judge David Turfe of the 20th District Court. 

During law school, Ms. Hamade refined her orating and brief writing skills by competing in the Chicago Bar moot court competition and the American Bar Association arbitration competition. She also coached the American Bar Association moot court team and was a teaching assistant for the following courses: Negotiation; Advocacy; and Research, Writing, and Analysis.  

Before law school, Ms. Hamade taught English as a Second Language in Doha, Qatar. Her position gave her the opportunity to practice her Arabic speaking skills and refine her ability to instruct others and overcome cultural barriers. She also earned her undergraduate degree with high honors from Michigan State University in Philosophy with minors in Cognitive Science and Linguistics.
