Stephen S. Muhich is experienced in general commercial litigation and employment litigation. Mr. Muhich has represented management interests in employment and labor-related issues for over twenty years in a variety of forums throughout the country before trial courts, appellate courts, federal, state and local administrative agencies, including the EEOC, the NLRB, and the United States Department of Labor. He is also skilled at alternative dispute resolution and has handled numerous arbitrations and grievance proceedings.
Experience
- Appears for and represents clients' interests throughout the United States, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Hawaii, Washington, Washington, D.C., Massachusetts, North Carolina, and California.
- Drafts employment policies including Employee Handbooks, EEO policies and Social Networking Policies.
- Serves as national Employment Counsel for the world's second largest elevator/escalator company.
- Class action experience includes class actions involving the Fair Labor Standards Act, Davis-Bacon Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.
- Extensive successful experience litigating cases under the American with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and its amendments, the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act, the Labor Management Relations Act, the National Labor Relations Act, and numerous state and local civil rights statutes and regulations.
