Sean Huang, Ph.D., is an associate attorney in Dykema's San Antonio, Texas office. He concentrates his intellectual property practice on patent prosecution, litigation support, and licensing. He counsels and represents clients from IT, consumer electronics, telecommunications, and semiconductor industries.

Sean has particular expertise in power electronics, battery technology, semiconductors, and integrated circuits. Prior to practicing law, he worked as an electrical engineer at GE Global Research and ExxonMobil. At GE, he designed megawatt motor drives, aircraft power converters, and energy management systems for hybrid/electric vehicles. At ExxonMobil, he was an electrical lead of FEED and Detailed Engineering in offshore and Arctic projects, and led R&D on subsea power T&D. He is also experienced with machinery fault diagnosis using pattern recognition and artificial intelligence. His cross-disciplinary experiences allow him to provide his clients with technically-sound and business-oriented legal counsel.

Sean holds four U.S. patents and has published 19 IEEE transactions and conference papers. He is an IEEE senior member.
