The National Labor Relations Act and what it means to all employers!

The South Texas Manufacturers Association invites you to an Employment Workshop presented by Cox Smith Matthews Incorporated

The current National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”) is drafting regulations that have some of the same effects of the proposed, but never implemented, Employee Free Choice Act (“EFCA”), which would radically change the way union elections are conducted. The good news for employers is that law has not been passed. Also, the NLRB is issuing decisions interpreting the law in a way that is expanding the definition of protected concerted activity and extending the law's protections to all employees. The National Labor Relations Act and its restrictions are not limited to companies with unions and potentially impacts all employers in ways never before seen.

Join us May 2nd, for a workshop discussing the current issues and events related to the National Labor Relations Act. Hear about training for all levels of management on dealing with labor issues and union organizing. The workshop will also take a practical look at the following:

  • Ways to recognize union organizing
  • Practical responses to organizing efforts
  • The meaning of a union presence to a company
  • Typical collective bargaining agreement terms
  • Handling an unfair labor practice charge
  • And more...
