Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of Brian R. Forbes to its Real Estate Practice Group as a member in the firm’s Dallas office. Forbes was previously a partner in the Real Estate & Finance Group at K&L Gates. His arrival comes on the heels of Michael Dalton joining the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group in Dallas in May.

Forbes concentrates his practice on finance and real estate law and has extensive experience in real estate transactions including loans, leasing, workouts, modifications, collections, perfection issues, foreclosures and temporary restraining orders involving rents. Forbes also focuses his practice on negotiating lender to lender revolving credit facilities. In addition, he has experience with securitizations and in particular, Real Estate Mortgage Investment Conduits, representing borrowers and master and special servicers in real estate loan workouts, foreclosures, assumptions, leasing, REO sales, loan sales, and property management agreements. Forbes also has experience with Pooling and Servicing Agreements and often assists his clients in resolving servicing issues relating to mortgage loan transactions.

At Dykema, Forbes will focus on general transactional work and financings for both corporate and real estate clients.

"Brian’s addition underscores the firm’s commitment to expand its real estate and transactional capabilities both nationally and in Dallas," said Rex Schlaybaugh, Dykema’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "We welcome Brian to the firm and are confident that he’ll be a tremendous asset."

He received a J.D. from Creighton University School of Law and a B.S.B.A. from Creighton University.
