St. Mary’s University School of Law to Honor Marty Truss as a Distinguished Law Graduate

Dykema, a leading national law firm, is pleased to announce that Marty Truss, member and co-leader of its Energy Industry Group, will be honored by St. Mary’s University School of Law this Friday, October 21, at the University’s 2016 Distinguished Law Graduate Dinner. Truss, who earned his J.D., summa cum laude, from St. Mary’s School of Law in 1996, will be honored along with the Honorable Donna Rayes of the 81st Judicial District of Texas as the two Distinguished Law Graduates this year.

Truss works principally in the energy industry, representing clients in state and federal courts and arbitrations of complex business disputes throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Wyoming, North Dakota, Louisiana, Arkansas and New York. He frequently handles litigation involving disputes concerning mineral title, joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, pipeline agreements, IADC contracts, trade secrets, and securities fraud. 

Truss is Immediate Past President of the San Antonio Bar Association, and serves on the Council of the ABA Section of Litigation; he has been recognized in the San Antonio Business Journal’s “Who’s Who in Energy” on multiple occasions and by The Best Lawyers in America® each year since 2010.  In 2011, Truss was named an “Outstanding Lawyer of the Year – Litigation,” by the San Antonio Business Journal.
