Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of Jack Schaedel to its Labor & Employment Practice Group as a Member in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Prior to joining Dykema, he was a Partner in Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, working out of its Pasadena office.

Schaedel represents employers in all areas of employment law, including single plaintiff and class action litigation asserting claims for discrimination, harassment, wage and hour violations and violation of medical family or disability leave laws. He also counsels clients with policy and handbook development and enforcement, and other related employment issues.

Schaedel also has experience in traditional labor law, including union organizing campaigns and elections, collective bargaining negotiations and unfair labor practice arbitrations, as well as day-to-day administration of collective bargaining agreements.

Schaedel is the founder and chairman of the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Pasadena Bar Association, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Law section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. In 2004, Schaedel founded his own firm that, through several mergers, eventually became Gonzalez Saggio & Harlan.

“We are very pleased to welcome Jack to our Los Angeles office,” said Michael Wippler, Office Managing Member of Dykema’s Los Angeles office. “His longstanding labor and employment expertise in the California market coupled with our firm’s platform of legal services and dedication to client service will make Jack a valuable member of our team.”

Schaedel received a J.D. from the UCLA School of Law and a B.S. from Cornell University, School of Industrial & Labor Relations. He also earned a certificate in Dispute Resolution from the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University.
