Chuck Chotvacs focuses his practice squarely on professional liability insurance and managing risk. He represents carriers in litigation—from pre-suit to post-trial—in coverage disputes involving directors and officers, financial institutions, investment advisors, attorneys, and real estate agents. Outside the courtroom, he counsels insurers on these lines, analyzing potential exposure and strategizing on risk avoidance and mitigation.

A battle-proven advocate with many years of experience in insurance and business litigation, Chuck has appeared in state and federal trial courts, appellate courts, and administrative tribunals, and mediations across the U.S. His written briefs convince courts the law and facts at hand rest solidly in his client’s favor, and he delivers well-crafted, powerful arguments that persuade judges and juries.

Research and writing are Chuck’s strong suit, which he honed as a law review editor-in-chief and a legislative advisor to two members of Congress from Colorado. The ability to scrutinize legislative histories, committee reports, and floor statements is another arrow in his quiver. By understanding legislative intent, he can communicate lawmakers’ thinking and thought processes and add weight to statutory elements of the case.
