Dykema Presents at CannaCon Midwest in Lansing

Lance Boldrey and John Fraser will serve as featured presenters at CannacCon Midwest, discussing “During Hemp for Victory? Hemp-Derived Cannabinoids and a Struggling Marijuana Market.” Hemp-derived cannabinoids–particularly intoxicating hemp-derived cannabinoids have proliferated in the marketplace in the wake of the 2018 Farm Bill. Some prognosticators have taken the position that Congress federally legalized cannabis back in 2018. This proliferation of products has put the marijuana and hemp industries at odds. Lance and John will first break down the background of the 2018 Farm Bill regarding hemp-derived cannabinoids with a discussion on recent market trends. Next, they will examine state legislative responses to regulate or prohibit intoxicating hemp-derived cannabinoids with a summary of select litigation playing out around the country. Finally, they will conclude with some predictions and observations of the future of the Farm Bill and what changes may take place this fall.
