Apache v. Castex and the Willful Misconduct Standard in JOA(s)

Marty Truss will serve as a feature speaker at The University of Texas School of Law’s 48^thAnnual Ernest E. Smith Oil, Gas and Mineral Law Institute on April 22, 2022.

His session, “Apache v. Castex and the Willful Misconduct Standard in JOA(s),” will provide a review of the JOA exculpatory clause and the operator’s “willful misconduct” standard. Truss will also discuss the recent developments in Texas case law, including Apache v. Castex, Reeder v. Wood County Energy, and Abraxas Petroleum v. Hornburg.
