Dykema is proud to announce that Dominique Douglas was selected by the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges (NCBJ) as a Blackshear Presidential Fellow for 2025.
Named after the esteemed retired Bankruptcy Judge Cornelius Blackshear, the Presidential Blackshear Fellowship is awarded to diverse bankruptcy attorneys who “deserve special recognition for their professional accomplishments to date” and “show the potential to distinguish themselves in future years as highly respected members of the bankruptcy or debt restructuring bar.” Fellows are invited to participate in the annual meeting of the NCBJ, an association comprised of U.S. Bankruptcy Judges who come together to foster education, cooperation, and quality within the bankruptcy bar and system.
In order to be selected, nominees must meet specific criteria, including having two to 10 years of experience practicing law, including judicial clerkship; devoting at least 50% of his/her practice to bankruptcy cases; demonstrating legal excellence in the practice of bankruptcy law; displaying serious commitment to principles of civility, ethics and professionalism; and demonstrating commitment to the continued educational development
of bankruptcy professionals and to professional activities that will benefit the public, members of the bar and the court system.
Douglas focuses her practice on business services and bankruptcy matters. She advises clients on a range of business and financial matters, including debt restructuring, insolvency, and commercial transactions.
