Jin-Kyu Koh Recognized as One of “Michigan’s Go To Business Lawyers” by Michigan Lawyers Weekly

Dykema, a leading national law firm, is proud to announce that Jin-Kyu Koh, Detroit-based Member and Director of the firm’s Business Services Department, was selected by Michigan Lawyers Weekly for its inaugural “Michigan’s Go To Business Lawyers” listing. Koh’s profile will be featured in Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s special supplement, “Michigan Go-To Lawyers Business Law,” on December 28, 2020.
Michigan Lawyers Weekly launched this new program to honor leading lawyers in a particular field of law, with this first year being business law. According to Michigan Lawyers Weekly, those selected are:
- Proficient in his or her field, well-versed in the nuances of the case law, statutes and regulations clients will encounter.
- Experienced, with a record of success in many cases and/or transactions.
- Lawyers to whom other lawyers make referrals because of his or her knowledge and accomplishments.
- Lawyers who can think creatively and identify all options for a client.
- Lawyers named when a friend needs legal help.
- Lawyers you might call yourself if you need legal help in his or her field.
Koh has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions of both public and private companies. He regularly represents companies in a wide range of financing transactions, including private and public offerings of equity and debt securities, secured and unsecured debt facilities, and angel and venture capital financing. Koh also provides general corporate representation to many of Dykema’s cannabis, casino gaming, biotechnology and life sciences, information technology, sports and entertainment, financial institution and Asian-based clients. He is also the leader of Dykema’s Korean Business Team and is a former Managing Member for the firm’s Detroit office.
Koh has been recognized by various other publications and organizations throughout his career. He’s been listed as a leading Corporate/M&A lawyer by Chambers USA for a decade straight, recognized by The Best Lawyers In America each year since 2007—including being named “Lawyer of the Year” in Detroit for M&A twice.
Koh earned a J.D. from American University and a B.A. from Cornell University.
