Dykema is proud to share that Joanne Zimolzak has joined the Canadian American Business Council's (CABC) Board of Directors.

The CABC is a leading nonprofit, nonpartisan, issues-oriented organization dedicated to fostering dialogue between the public and private sectors in the U.S. and Canada. The Council meets with presidents, prime ministers, governors, premiers, members of Parliament, and members of Congress. Legislators, media, and business figures turn to it for guidance on navigating—and defining—the exemplary relationship between the US and Canada.

Zimolzak focuses her practice on commercial litigation. In the insurance area, she helps carriers avoid or reduce significant exposure associated with bad faith allegations and professional negligence claims against insureds. She also assists clients with navigating the federal and state regulatory environment, including challenging administrative decisions in state and federal courts and advising government contractors in areas of compliance.

Zimolzak is a member and past chair of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association’s Tort Trial and Insurance Practice, and she just recently joined the International Association of Defense Counsel. She also serves on the boards of the Children’s Law Center, the District of Columbia’s largest pro bono legal services organization serving children and families in need, and the DC Council for Court Excellence, whose mission is to enhance the justice system in DC to serve the public equitably.

Zimolzak received her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland, College Park.
