Dykema, a leading national law firm, is proud to announce that John Rhoades, Detroit-based member in the firm’s Business Litigation practice group, was selected for Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s “Up & Coming Lawyers” Class of 2021. Rhoades will be featured in a special section of Michigan Lawyers Weekly’s June 14, 2021, issue. There will be an awards ceremony held on June 10, 2021, to honor the entire Class of 2021.

Michigan Lawyers Weekly established this program to honor Michigan lawyers who have established a name for themselves by displaying ambition and accomplishments that set them apart among their peers in their first 10 years of practice.

Rhoades has litigated cases to successful conclusions in state and federal courts in Michigan, Illinois, and Wisconsin through trial, arbitration, mediation and appeal. He represents publicly and privately held companies and individuals in all forms of business and commercial disputes. He has represented closely-held businesses and individuals in contract and shareholder disputes, automotive suppliers and manufacturers in pricing disputes, breach of contract cases, internal investigations, employment matters, and premises liability cases, as well as banks, mortgage servicers, and creditors in loan enforcement actions, fraudulent transfer cases, and post-judgment proceedings.

As an associate at Dykema, Rhoades helped establish an associates committee and was elected a chairperson by his peers. In addition to his involvement in professional associations and alumni networks, Rhoades continues to assist with practice development programming for new associates and serves as a mentor for summer associates.

Rhoades earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School and an A.B., with high distinction, from the University of Michigan.
