As one of the country’s premier defense lawyers in automotive and other products liability matters, Carey is known for his creativity and ability to authentically connect with juries. His powerful courtroom advocacy is built upon a foundation of technical knowledge and meticulous preparation, which has led to favorable verdicts and outcomes in state and federal courts across the country.
An accomplished leader, Carey serves as Dykema’s Minneapolis Office Managing Member and is the Co-leader of the firm’s electric and autonomous vehicles (E/AV) and advanced mobility team. As editor of The Open Road, Dykema’s automotive blog, he is frequently called on to publish and present on legal issues and advances in the automotive field.
Carey earned a J.D., cum laude, from William Mitchell College of Law and a B.A. from St. John’s University.
