Dykema is proud to announce that Partner Theodore (Ted) Seitz has been selected by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as a “Leader in the Law.” Seitz will be recognized at an awards ceremony on Friday, November 14, 2025, at The Mint at Michigan First Conference Center.
According to the publication, “the honorees are setting the standard for other lawyers through their outstanding contributions to the practice of law and the justice system in Michigan. They have demonstrated tremendous leadership and offer a wealth of expertise in diverse areas of the law.”
For more than two decades, Seitz has distinguished himself as a state and national leader in trial, appellate, and class action defense. He currently leads the firm's Financial Services Litigation practice, managing a team of attorneys in high-stakes cases in state and federal courts nationwide. Seitz has shaped national precedent in cases shielding Michigan taxpayers from over $500 million in potential liability.
Beyond his case work, Seitz has demonstrated a profound commitment to improving the justice system and his community. For over a decade, he has served as the chairperson for the Ingham County Jury Board, where he was instrumental in leading reforms to address the backlog of jury trials accumulated during the COVID-19 pandemic. He received Dykema’s 2022 Margaret A. Costello Pro Bono Award after contributing over 600 hours to matters that included securing the release of three individuals serving a collective 85 years for unconstitutional sentences.
Seitz earned a J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and holds B.A. and B.S. degrees from Michigan State University.
