Dykema, a leading national law firm, announced today the addition of Katrina G. Hull as Senior Counsel in the firm’s Trademark Practice Group, resident in the firm’s Milwaukee office. Hull joins Dykema from Markery Law LLC, where she most recently served as Partner and Midwest Managing Attorney.

In her practice, Hull advises clients on global trademark protection strategies, including brand registration and enforcement, portfolio management, licensing, and copyright protection. She represents companies across a range of industries, including manufacturing, biotechnology, education, and entertainment, and advises on nontraditional trademarks and branding issues related to social media.

Her experience includes managing global trademark portfolios for industry-leading companies and guiding a global manufacturing company through acquisitions and trademark filings that doubled the size of its trademark portfolio. Hull also has trademark litigation experience, including successfully defending an appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and obtaining precedential rulings from the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

“Katrina brings an impressive combination of sophisticated trademark experience, leadership, and practical understanding of the challenges companies face in protecting their brands,” said Kate Bechen, Managing Member of Dykema’s Milwaukee office. “Her experience managing global portfolios and handling complex trademark matters will be a tremendous asset to our clients, and we are very pleased to welcome her to Dykema.”

Before joining Markery Law, Hull spent nearly a decade at Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, where she held several positions, including Shareholder, and previously led the firm’s trademark practice. In that role, she oversaw the practice’s business strategy, training, recruitment, and performance.

Hull also developed the curriculum for and teaches a course on trademarks and unfair competition law at Marquette University Law School and serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School.

Hull earned a J.D. and a B.S. in Journalism, with highest distinction, from the University of Kansas.
