The trio summarizes the bipartisan STATES Act (S. 3032) which purports to protect cannabis businesses in states where the substance is legal by exempting them from the federal Controlled Substances Act, thereby benefiting banks and other financial institutions eager to provide services to the burgeoning marijuana industry.
