Aleks Miziolek, Director of Dykema’s Automotive Industry Group, and Grant Gilezan, leader of the Firm’s Environmental Law practice, will attend the inaugural “Summit on Accelerating Innovation to Drive Sustainable Automotive Manufacturing Growth Across North America,” to be held on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan on June 26-27.

This two-day event—the first of its kind—is designed to bring together automakers, suppliers, and leaders from government, academia and the investment community to explore opportunities to accelerate advance manufacturing process innovation in the automotive supply chain. Although attendance is by invitation only, companies interested in attending this Summit may request an invitation by visiting https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/AcceleratingInnovation.

The Summit will address such strategically important topics as:

  • Enabling Innovation – Exploring the process of identifying, prioritizing and evaluating advanced manufacturing process innovations; mitigating risk; scaling up and lowering cost
  • Securing the Talent Pipeline – Examining opportunities to enhance public-private partnerships (PPPs) to train and educate tomorrow’s leaders to embrace innovative and sustainable thinking
  • Improving the Business Climate for Innovation – Looking at opportunities to increase North American intergovernmental coordination and address inconsistency/complexity in trade and regulatory concerns

Dykema is a member of Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (indeed, the only law firm to have this honor), which is one of three co-sponsors of this Summit. Grant Gilezan is the Firm’s designate at all Suppliers Partnership for the Environment activities and is a member of the Summit's Planning Committee.
