In response to the uncertainty domestically and globally regarding the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and with the health, safety and well-being of our clients, staff, and communities being of paramount importance, Dykema is taking precautionary measures to help protect our extended business family and continue to deliver excellent client service.

To that end, several weeks ago, Dykema Management formed an Emergency Preparedness Team dedicated to reviewing processes and systems to ensure that the firm is well-prepared to react as necessary and can quickly respond to changes in the working environment and continue to serve our clients’ needs. In the event the outbreak should result in office closures in any of our locations, the firm has developed contingency plans that will enable us to provide uninterrupted, high-quality service to our clients. Working remotely, Dykema attorneys and staff will continue to be responsive to the firm’s legal and business needs throughout any potential shutdowns or quarantines that may be established.

Out of concern for the safety and well-being of the Dykema family, we’ve taken the following measures to help safeguard our staff and their ability to serve our clients:

  • Ensuring all employees have the equipment and training necessary to work from home should the need arise,
  • Establishing temporary mandatory travel guidelines, including the cancellation of our annual Members Meeting, opting instead to host a virtual meeting,
  • Establishing mandatory employee illness guidelines to protect all employees, their families, visitors and clients,
  • Promoting the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations for reducing exposure to and transmission of the disease,
  • Instituting enhanced cleaning initiatives in all firm offices,
  • Providing internal manager training presented by our Labor & Employment attorneys, “Managing Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the Workplace.”

In order to help stay ahead of emerging client concerns Dykema formed a COVID-19 Taskforce and launched its COVID-19 Resource Center, to help clients better understand and prepare to handle impending legal complications resulting from the pandemic.

The Resource page houses all of Dykema’s COVID-19-related legal content so that organizations can easily leverage information, stay up-to-date on evolving developments, and better position themselves for success.

As we move through this uncertain and unpredictable time, Dykema will remain vigilant and continue to develop, update and share the necessary guidance to help protect and inform our clients, staff and their families against the spread of this disease and continue to provide excellent service to those who rely on our counsel.

Finally, our thoughts are with all those presently impacted by the disease and the health professionals working to care for them.
