Marsha G. Gentner, Washington, D.C.-based senior counsel in Dykema’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, was interviewed in the September 2015 issue of Metropolitan Corporate Counsel in an article entitled, “Trademarks – Not What They Used To Be: Courts expected to seriously revisit First Amendment issues.”

In the interview, Gentner discusses some recent highly-publicized trademark cases and the implications they may have for corporations. The cases highlighted in the interview involve the National Football League’s Washington Redskins, motorcycle biker groups and the NAACP. She goes on to discuss how these potential precedents may affect the way corporations design or execute trademarks.
