Marsha Gentner, Washington, D.C.-based Senior Counsel in Dykema’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, was quoted in the Bloomberg Law article “Internet Archive’s Public Interest Defense May Fall Short.”

The article provides background on book publishers’ copyright lawsuit against the Internet Archive. The article goes on to discuss some of the weaknesses found in the Internet Archive’s defense in the infringement case. Gentner points out that letting a nonprofit rely on a public service claim to engage in mass infringement would be a slippery slope.
