In an afternoon session on November 8, Horwitz and co-presenter, Susan Appel, legal counsel at Unifund CCR Partners, will discuss the implications of the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and offer perspectives on new and existing issues in credit reporting compliance, regulatory and litigation. Among the topics to be covered in this one-hour session:

  • How companies furnish information to the credit reporting bureaus using METRO II guidelines, and the disputes/claims that arise from that usage
  • The credit reporting compliance, regulatory and litigation compliance issues that arise from recent Consent Decrees with the FTC
  • Various compliance and litigation strategies—including discussion of “permissible purpose” and “soft” and “hard” inquiries

The ACA International Fall Forum is one of the largest events in the credit and collection industry, attracting more than 300 practitioners from across the nation. The event is CLE accredited.
