William Kohler, Detroit-based senior counsel in Dykema’s Corporate Finance Practice Group and co-leader of the Firm’s Autonomous and Connected Vehicle Team, was quoted in the Politico article, “Industry-Wary NHTSA May Step in Front of Driverless Cars.”
In the article, reactions are solicited from several auto industry insiders to NHTSA’s Federal Automated Vehicles Policy, in which the agency proposes pre-certification of driverless vehicles. Kohler cautions that the burden of additional governmental oversight might hamper the technological evolution of autonomous cars.
