Chris Kratovil Comments on Texas House Bill’s Change to TRCP 91a in Texas Lawyer

Chris Kratovil, Managing Member of Dykema’s Dallas office and member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Appellate practice groups, was quoted in the Texas Lawyer article, “Why Are Civil Defense Lawyers Thrilled the Texas House Passed This Bill?”.

In the article, Kratovil shares his opinion on the Texas House’s newly passed bill, which proposes small but significant changes to Texas Rules of Civil Procedure Rule 91a. In the loser-pays provision, it changes the word “shall” to “may,” which gives a judge discretion to decide to award fees.
