Bill Lentine Discusses Pre-Sale Planning at MICPA M&A Conference

William C. Lentine, Bloomfield Hills-based member in Dykema’s Taxation and Estates Practice Group, recently served as a featured speaker at the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) Anti-Fraud Issues, Litigation & Business Valuation, Mergers & Acquisitions Conference in Livonia, Michigan.

Lentine served as a co-presenter during a breakout session of the Mergers & Acquisitions portion of the conference. The presentation, “Pre-Sale Planning,” revealed how creating and executing a multi-step plan for the future sale of a business is crucial for minimizing tax consequences. It also highlighted changes in the new tax law that affect pre-sale planning, items that go into the letter of intent, as well as discussing building in goodwill.
