Van Lindberg, San Antonio-based member in Dykema’s Intellectual Property practice group, was quoted extensively in the Managing Intellectual Property article, “How AI Affects Patent Prosecution and Litigation.”
Lindberg reassures readers that 35 USC 101 provisions do not prohibit the patenting of Artificial Intelligence (AI) processes, but warns of drafting specifications that are too broad. He further discusses liability issues and AI’s obvious suitability for searching and comparing prior patent applications.
