Van Lindberg, San Antonio-based member in Dykema’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, was invited to explain the significance of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) with the host of WOAI CyberTalkRadio.

The GDPR bolsters the former Safe Harbor international data privacy agreements and is scheduled to go into effect in late May. It provides stringent privacy protections for online consumers, impacting U.S. e-merchants who have European clients. Lindberg outlines the precepts of the new regulation, explores the concept of the “right to be forgotten,” and warns of gray areas and other pitfalls.
