Van Lindberg to Address Open Source at Autolex: Autonomous Vehicle Legal Forum

Van Lindberg, San Antonio-based member in Dykema’s Intellectual Property practice and the firm’s Automotive Industry Group, will serve as a featured speaker at the 3rd annual Autolex: Autonomous Vehicle Legal Forum hosted by Benchmark Litigation and Managing IP. The forum will take place Sept. 10, 2019, at the Westin Book Cadillac Hotel in Detroit and will focus on disruptive changes occurring in the automobile industry as autonomous vehicles become a reality.

Lindberg’s presentation, titled “What role does open source play in advancing autonomous vehicle technology?”, is scheduled for 2:40 p.m. and will address:

  • the kinds of IP being opened up – source code and patents,
  • who is driving open source, who is jumping on board,
  • how automotive and mobility companies use open source,
  • why these companies are turning to open source, and
  • how open source might impact the different types of market models and monetization models for AV and mobility companies.
