Two members of Dykema’s Health Care Practice Group—Maria B. Abrahamsen, who leads the practice, and Joanne R. Lax—will be featured speakers at the ICLE (Institute of Continuing Legal Education) 19th Annual Health Law Institute. This event runs March 7-8, 2013, and will take place at The Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth, Michigan.

Abrahamsen will be the event’s kickoff speaker, delivering a one-hour presentation on March 7 that updates attendees on the latest federal regulatory changes that impact the health care industry. In addition to outlining the key developments in the regulatory environment, Abrahamsen will provide insight into the significance and implications of these new developments.

On March 8, Lax and co-presenter, Alicia Blumenfeld Chandler from Trinity Health, will address the legal issues in home health and long-term care. As the nation’s population ages, the implications and consequences of providing care at home and over a long term are fast becoming one of the more critical themes within the health care industry. Lax will provide helpful, practical insights into such realms as compliance, ethics and coverage.

The ICLE Health Law Institute is an accredited event, offering up to 9.5 CLE credits and .75 Ethics credits. The Institute is jointly sponsored by ICLE and the Health Care Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. To learn more about this event, or to register, please click here.
