Phil Slinkard Authors Article on Attorney-Client Privilege in M&A for Metropolitan Corporate Counsel

Phillip M. Slinkard, Austin-based member in Dykema’s Corporate Finance Practice Group, authored the article, “The Many Facets of the Attorney-Client Privilege in Mergers and Acquisitions,” which appeared in the July/August issue of Metropolitan Corporate Counsel.

In the article, Slinkard points out that the discussion of the attorney-client privilege in the context of mergers and acquisitions starts with the holdings in Great Hill Equity Partners IV, LP v. SIG Growth Equity Fund I, LLLP and Tekni-Plex, Inc. v. Meyner & Landis. He goes on the highlight precedent, the common interest doctrine and the application of state law, as well as a number of takeaways.
