Jill Wheaton Serves as Nationally Recognized Speaker at DRI Trial Tactics and Appellate Advocacy Joint Conference

Jill M. Wheaton, Ann Arbor-based member in Dykema’s Litigation Department and Leader of the firm’s Appellate practice, served as a nationally recognized speaker at the DRI - The Voice of the Defense Bar's joint conference of its Trial Tactics and Appellate Advocacy seminars, which took place at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on March 15, 2018. 

Wheaton was featured as an "exceptional practitioner" in a mock oral argument presentation titled, "Mock Appellate Argument: Sports-Gambling Case," where she performed as an Advocate. During this presentation, a panel of judges presided over a case on review before the Supreme Court of the United States that challenges the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, a federal law banning states from authorizing sports gambling in all but a handful of “grandfathered” states, such as Nevada.
