Dykema, a leading national law firm, announces that Karen Richman has joined the firm as an associate in the firm's Dallas office. Her practice focuses on litigation, with an emphasis on business and commercial matters.

Prior to joining Dykema, Ms. Richman served with the Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps. In this capacity, Ms. Richman served as Chief Counsel at a major military installation, representing the government in administrative hearings and courts-martial and advising on employment and labor law, contracting, regulatory compliance, Federal Tort Claims Act, ethics, HIPAA, FOIA, and Privacy Act matters. Ms. Richman was also appointed as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas.

Additionally, as a Navy defense counsel, Ms. Richman represented individual service members before military courts in felony level criminal cases. In her most recent position as Regional Advisory and Compliance Counsel at Naval Health Clinic Great Lakes, Ms. Richman led initiation of the Wounded Warrior legal program across sixteen states in the Midwest region.

A resident of Keller, Texas, Ms. Richman received a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of North Florida and a J.D., with honors, from the University of Florida.
