Dykema, a leading national law firm, announces that Sherrie L. Farrell has been appointed Chair of the firm's Diversity Committee. In an effort to renew and revitalize its commitment to diversity, Dykema created a Diversity Committee, comprised of twelve individuals from its various offices who reflect the firm's diversity, as well as the firm's Chairman, an ex officio member of the Committee. The Diversity Committee is charged with the responsibility of coordinating the firmfs diversity efforts. This includes development, implementation and monitoring of programs and activities to enhance, and eliminate barriers to, diversity. The Chair of the Committee, who is appointed by the Chairman of the firm with the advice and consent of the Executive Board, also serves as the Associate Professional Personnel Member and is an ex officio member of the Recruiting and Professional Personnel Committees.

Farrell is a mass torts and commercial litigation attorney whose experience includes defending Fortune 100 companies in high risk litigation. She also has substantial experience in coordinating and providing discovery strategies for companies involved in multi-district litigation and mass claims. Her additional experience includes national coordination and preparation of experts in mass tort cases.

Farrell has served as the national discovery counsel for a Fortune 25 defendant in asbestos litigation. She also served as national discovery counsel in other toxic tort litigation. Farrell has extensive experience in commercial and general business matters. She has represented closely-held corporations, auto suppliers, regional staffing agencies, and construction companies in both litigated and non-litigated matters.

A veteran of business and government affairs, Farrell also is a involved in public-private partnership initiatives and the firm's Infrastructure and Project Finance Practice Area.

A resident of Southfield, Michigan, Farrell received a B.A. from Wayne State University and a J.D., cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law.
