Dykema, a leading national law firm, announces that Charles R. "Rod" Marvin, Jr., Managing Member of its Washington office and leader of the Government Contracts practice, Presented a two-day seminar entitled "The Government Contract Intellectual Property Workshop" in Washington on March 4-5, 2009. This seminar, which Mr. Marvin presents three times annually (twice in Washington and once in Las Vegas), is sponsored by Thomson West, Federal Publications Seminars. Attending the March workshop were attorneys and other procurement personnel from Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, Alliant Techsystems, and other government contractors, as well as attorneys with the U.S. Departments of Energy, Defense, and Homeland Security.

In his practice, Mr. Marvin protects his clients’ rights and helps them realize their expectations throughout the government procurement solicitation and award process, by analyzing draft and final solicitation provisions, by prosecuting and defending bid protests, and by negotiating and resolving issues and disputes, whether arising with the government or with the client’s prime contractor or subcontractor. Mr. Marvin has extensive experience identifying, negotiating, and enhancing the value of his clients’ rights to intellectual property generated in the performance of government-funded projects or through independent research and development efforts.

Mr. Marvin resides in the Annapolis, Maryland area and received a B.A., with honors, from Michigan State University, a J.D. from Boston University, an LL.M., with highest honors, from George Washington University and an LL.M. from The Judge Advocate General’s School – Army.
