Dykema Attorney Creates Tax Program For Legislators

Dykema, a leading national law firm, announces that Wayne D. Roberts, a member of the firm’s Taxation and Estates practice group, has been chosen by the State Bar of Michigan to coordinate and produce a "Law School for Legislators – Taxation Matters" program. The program will provide new or existing Legislators with an overview of Michigan tax laws that impact business and individuals. Working with Roberts is Elizabeth K. Lyon, Director of Governmental Relations for the State Bar of Michigan. An afternoon session followed by a reception is being planned for later this month.

Roberts’ practice includes all aspects of federal and state tax planning and tax litigation.  Mr. Roberts has represented both closely held and Fortune 1000 companies in tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, the Michigan Department of Treasury, and revenue departments in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Tennessee, New York, California, and numerous other state and local taxing jurisdictions.

Roberts received his B.B.A. from Western Michigan University, his M.S. in Taxation from Grand Valley State University and his J.D. from Ohio State University.  He was a Public Service Fellow while at Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.

Roberts is also a registered CPA in the states of Michigan, Ohio and Illinois.
