Dykema Sponsors 2010 Michigan Tax Conference

Dykema, a leading national law firm, announces that it is a sponsor of the 4th Annual 2010 Michigan Tax Conference being held November 9-10 at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, Michigan. The Michigan Tax Conference is the 2nd largest tax conference in the United States, and will feature actual case studies and scenarios for sales and use tax, the Michigan Business Tax (MBT), and multistate tax issues with internet transactions. Three of Dykema’s top tax authorities will be moderating and participating on panel discussions during the event.

Steven E. Grob, Co-leader of the firm's Taxation & Estates practice group, participated on the Conference Planning Task Force and is also moderating a panel discussion on "Dispositions, Acquisitions & Reorganizations – A Variety of State Tax Issues to Consider" on Tuesday, November 9. Mr. Grob is both an attorney and a certified public accountant with nearly 35 years in tax practice, including extensive experience in state tax planning and state tax controversies. He is a frequent writer and lecturer, and a contributing editor for the Journal of Multistate Taxation and Incentives. Mr. Grob has been selected as one of the "Best Lawyers in America" for over 13 years.

Wayne D. Roberts, Co-leader of the firm’s Taxation & Estates practice group, participated on the Conference Planning Task Force and is also participating in a panel discussion on "Apportionment & Sourcing" on Wednesday, November 10. Mr. Roberts is a tax attorneys and his practice includes all aspects of federal and state tax planning and tax litigation. He has represented both closely held and Fortune 1000 companies in tax disputes with the Internal Revenue Service, the Michigan Department of Treasury, and revenue departments in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Tennessee, New York, California, and numerous other state and local taxing jurisdictions.

Sherrill D. Wolford, a Member of the firm in the Detroit office, will participate on the "Real and Personal Property Tax" panel on Wednesday, November 10. Ms. Wolford represents clients in federal and state tax controversies, tax planning and transactional strategies. Ms. Wolford’s practice emphasizes Michigan business tax, state income, franchise, sales, use, and property taxes, and state and local tax incentives. Ms. Wolford is a frequent speaker on state and local tax issues.
