Cox Smith Matthews Incorporated (“Cox Smith”) today announced that eleven of its attorneys and five of its practice areas were recognized in the 2013 edition of Chambers USA, an annual legal guide that compiles rankings of the nation’s best lawyers through research, client interviews and testimony.
Cox Smith’s Tom Alleman (Insurance), Mark Andrews (Bankruptcy/Restructuring), Mike Ferrill (Antitrust), Pam Huff (Intellectual Property), Karen Neeley (Banking & Finance), Kathy Poppitt (Healthcare), Edward Rios (Immigration) Arlene Steinfield (Labor & Employment), George Tarpley (Bankruptcy/Restructuring), Kathleen Campbell Walker (Immigration) and Deborah Williamson (Bankruptcy/Restructuring) were selected in their respective practice areas. The firm’s Antitrust, Bankruptcy/Restructuring, Immigration, Insurance and Intellectual Property practice areas were also recognized, including first-time national recognition for Cox Smith’s Immigration practice.
“Chambers researchers place significant emphasis on client feedback and so does Cox Smith. I’m proud of these attorneys and practice areas for being recognized for their commitment to client service,” said Jamie Smith, managing director of Cox Smith. “I’m especially proud of our immigration practice for its national recognition. Immigration is an extremely complicated matter and Kathleen and her team are actively helping businesses and families find creative ways to solve their immigration challenges.”
Headquartered in London, Chambers and Partners’ highly qualified team of researchers conducts thousands of interviews with lawyers and their clients. Working together, they identify and rank the world’s best lawyers (i.e. those who perform best according to the criteria most valued by clients – such as technical expertise, business acumen, prompt delivery and value for money).
