Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced that Eric T. Fingerhut, member and leader of the firm’s Trademark Practice, has been recognized by World Trademark Review (WTR) for inclusion in its 2014 edition of WTR 1000, the first and only stand-alone ranking publication to focus exclusively on trademark practices and practitioners. This is the fourth consecutive year – every year that WTR 1000 has been published – that Fingerhut has achieved this recognition.

Fingerhut is resident in Dykema’s Washington, D.C. office.

Fingerhut has earned WTR 1000’s highest rating – Gold band – for his work in Trademark Prosecution and Strategy. He is one of only seven practitioners in the metropolitan D.C. area to merit this distinction. Fingerhut has also earned Silver band status for his work in Trademark Enforcement and Litigation.

In its profile, WTR 1000 describes Fingerhut as “a discerning counselor and an expert on transactional mandates,” citing his experience in assisting rights holders in “understanding the brand cycle and maximizing the potential of their assets.”

The 2014 edition of WTR 1000 also confers Bronze band status upon Dykema, noting that the firm’s “national presence and strong commercial practices” combine to make it “well placed to serve large clients with valuable portfolios.”

Peter M. Kellett, Dykema Chairman and CEO, notes, “Many companies count brands and trademarks among their most distinctive and valuable assets. Eric’s proven skill in helping clients protect and defend their marks is at the core of this recognition.”

Selections for this edition of WTR 1000 were based on research that included more than 1,500 face-to-face and telephone interviews with trademark specialists around the world, conducted by a team of highly qualified, full-time analysts over a four-month period. Research covered more than 80 country and state-specific jurisdictions.
