Dykema’s Arthur B. Axelson to Speak at Knowledge Congress’ Live Webcast: “Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: Impact Explored”

WASHINGTON, D.C—Dykema Gossett PLLC, a leading national law firm, today announced that Arthur B. Axelson participated as a speaker at the Knowledge Congress’ webcast entitled, "Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: Impact Explored LIVE Webcast." This event was held on January 27, 2012 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST.

On July 11, 2011, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) opened its doors to Americans to help them avoid unfair practices from financial entities that abuse consumers. This live webcast will explore the substantive provisions of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as well as the impact on companies, consumers and the economy. The Knowledge Congress assembled a panel of experts who will share their opinions in a two-hour teleconference and webinar. A live interaction with the audience in a question and answer format was also featured.

Mr. Axelson is a Senior Counsel in Dykema’s financial services regulatory and compliance practice and is resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Axelson’s practice focuses on interacting with federal and state banking officials, assisting firm clients on compliance and new product development, and advising financial service providers on both federal and state law, including the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act and its implementing regulations. He is also co-author and co-editor of the recently released Consumer Financial Answer Book 2011, and is the editor of Dykema’s popular bi-monthly CFPB Alerts. Mr. Axelson represents a broad range of financial institutions, brokers, lenders, investors and other service providers on consumer financial service and retail banking matters. His primary areas of practice include federal and state regulatory compliance with special emphasis on new product development, secured and unsecured lending, regulatory banking and e-commerce in the financial services industry.
