Dykema Adds Corporate Finance Attorney Bryan L. Elwood to Its Dallas Office

Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of Bryan L. Elwood to its Corporate Finance Practice Group as a senior counsel in the firm’s Dallas office. Prior to joining Dykema, Elwood practiced in the Dallas office of Greenberg Traurig, LLP for more than 10 years.

Elwood advises and counsels clients in general corporate matters and in business acquisitions and divestitures. He has handled all aspects of asset sales and purchases, starting with the initial strategy development, letter of intent, and due diligence phases, through negotiating purchase agreements and closing of the transaction. Elwood also provides general corporate governance and business transaction services, and has broad experience in negotiating and preparing contracts and settlement agreements.

He also represents creditors, debtors, and other parties-in-interest in the areas of creditors’ and debtors’ rights and complex Chapter 7, 11, 12, and 13 bankruptcy cases. Elwood has extensive experience in analyzing complex true sale and non-consolidation issues and preparing related legal opinions.

Prior to his time with Greenberg Traurig, LLP, Elwood was an associate at Patton Boggs, LLP. Before that, he served as a law clerk for the Honorable Robert C. McGuire, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas.

He received a J.D., cum laude, from the Brigham Young University - J. Reuben Clark Law School, and a B.S., magna cum laude, in Economics from Utah State University.
